In 2011, Eastern Africa faced the world’s worst food security crisis with more than 14 million people requiring urgent food aid and other humanitarian assistance. In Djibouti, a robust food relief and recovery response were developed to face the major drought and rocketing food prices which impacted more than half of the country’s 860,000 residents.
